With the release of version 2.3 and the 1st Anniversary celebration patch for the game, a special brand new Anniversary banner will commence in Wuthering Waves, allowing players to roll for some of the strongest Limited 5* characters that they might have missed during their initial banner runs. This includes one of the best supporting characters -- Zhezhi.
In this guide, we will go over everything players need to know about Zhezhi’s playstyle, abilities, skills and how to build her with the best weapons and teams. Let's follow LDShop to maximize Zhezhi’s full potential, making her an amazing character to use in any scenarios.

What we cover:
Zhezhi Overview
As one of the premium sub-DPS supporting characters in the game with the ability to not only deal decently good damage but also heals and supplement other resonators in dealing damage even when off field, Zhezhi is among the most sought after supporting Resonator in the game for many different team comps.
Wuthering Waves Zhezhi Skills & Playstyle
Zhezhi Skills and Abilities
Zhezhi is a 5* Limited Glacio Elemental Resonator that uses a Rectifier as her main weapon in combat. She is a Glacio Sub DPS with support capabilities, being able to boost the damage of other Resonators with her skills and Forte Gauge abilities
Zhezhi’s main strong point and gimmick lies in her ability to summon special familiars to aid herself and allies when attacking enemies, helping to deal coordinated attacks and boost the team’s overall damage. In addition, her abilities allow her to boost the team’s overall Glacio damage output and help to supplement other Resonators' energy needs.
Zhezhi’s Forte gauge allows her to accumulate Afflatus points with her abilities and spend them to summon special familiars to aid her and allies in battle, each of the familiar’s damage are considered basic attack damage, with up to 3 familiars being able to be summoned at the same time.
Zhezhi’s Resonance Liberation allows her a special Inkling Spirit to aid in battle, with the Inkling Spirit dealing massive amounts of Glacio damage to enemies as coordinated attacks. Up to 21 Inking Spirits can be summoned this way and their attacks’ damage are all considered as Basic Attack damage.
Upon using her intro skill, Zhezhi will fill half of her Forte Gauge immediately, allowing her to quickly fill her gauge up in order to summon her powerful familiar onto the field to help aid her in battle. Once her energy is filled, Zhezhi can use her outro skill to buff the next allies’ Resonance Skill damage, allowing them to deal big damage in addition to getting the full coordinated attack benefits from her.
Zhezhi Playstyle & Rotation
To maximize Zhezhi’s damage output and team supporting capabilities there are certain rotation players need to keep in mind when using her skill kit:
- Upon using her intro skill, Zhezhi will gain half of her Forte gauge when she takes the field, players should take full advantage of this in order to fill her forte gauge quickly. Once Zhezhi is on the field, quickly use her normal attacks to fill her forte gauge and use her charge attack to summon her familiar onto the field.
- After her Forte gauge is filled, use her Resonance skill and basic attack right away, this will allow her to summon 3 of her familiars to aid her in battle. Once her familiars are on the field, you can use her resonance skill to teleport to her familiars 3 times, filling up her Resonance Liberation energy.
- Once Liberation Energy is filled, use her Resonance Liberation to summon her strongest familiar and fill her outro energy. Afterward, switch out with your main DPS character to grant the main DPS Resonance Skill damage up from Zhezhi’s outro skill buff and allow the main DPS to deal damage together with Zhezhi familiar's attacks.
Zhezhi Skill Upgrade Priorities
Zhezhi’s main source of damage comes from her Forte Gauge and her Familiars summoned by her Skill, so they are of the highest priority for players to upgrade.
Resonance Skill = Forte Circuit > Resonance Liberation > Normal Attack > Intro Skill
Zhezhi’s Liberation Liberation and her normal attacks also contribute greatly to her overall damage output when she is on field, therefore, to maximize Zhezhi’s damage potential, these abilities should be leveled up as well to boost Zhezhi’s own damage output when she is on the field.
Zhezhi Best Teammates & Synergy
With her abilities to boost the overall damage of the team by summoning her familiars on the battlefield to aid and attack together with the main DPS, Zhezhi is extremely suitable as a Sub DPS Supporter Resonator in many different teams, but she especially shines in teams that take advantage of coordinated attacks
Some of the strongest characters that can go together Zhezhi in a team are:
- Jinhsi: The strongest DPS in the game and is a DPS that heavily relies on Coordinated attacks from allies to boost her own damage output from her skill use. Therefore, as a character that can deal extremely strong coordinated attacks and buff up the team, Zhezhi will be the perfect teammate for Jinhsi.
- Carlotta: The new fancy main DPS option for Glacio centric team, Carlotta benefits greatly from a lot of Zhezhi’s buffs and effects, allowing her to take full advantage of Zhezhi’s kit to buff up her own personal damage.
- Sanhua: Sanhua is a very good character that can buff up Zhezhi’s damage output to make her a semi-main DPS option, allowing players who want to make Zhezhi the main star of the team to deal a good amount of damage.
Zhezhi Build - Echoes & Weapons Recommendations
Echo Set Recommendations
Empyrean Anthem
As Zhezhi is a Glacio Resonator, if players want to focus mainly on boosting Zhezhi’s main damage while she is on the field, then the Empyrean Anthem set is the natural recommended set for Zhezhi to boost her Glacio damage output and coordinated attacks.
Moonlit Clouds
However, as Zhezhi is a Glacio damage support chara that wants to help supplement other allies’ damage output in the team, the main set that players can run for Zhezhi is the Moonlit Clouds Sonata Set, which helps boost her energy regeneration and help increase the damage of other allies.
Echoes Main And Sub Stats Recommendation
For main and sub stats for Echoes, Zhezhi, as the damage support for the team, will need offensive stats to help boost her familiars’ damage while also have a higher enough Energy Regeneration% to quickly use her skills.
The main stats that players should get are:
- 4 Cost Echo (Nightmare: Lampylumen Myriad): Energy Regeneration% (Support)/ Crit Rate% or Crit Damage% (DPS)
- 3 Cost Echoes: 2 Glacio Damage% (DPS) or Energy Regen (Support)
- 1 Cost Echoes: 2 Atk% Echoes
Recommended Sub Stats:
Energy Regeneration% > Critical Rate% = Critical Damage% Resonance Skill Damage% > Normal Attack Damage% > Atk%
Weapon Recommendations
For Zhezhi, her best in slot weapon is of course her signature weapon:
Rime-Draped Sprouts (5* Limited) (Critical Damage%): Increases ATK by 12%. After activating the Resonance Skill, increases the user's NA damage by 12% for 6 seconds and this can stack up to three times. When the Outro skill is activated after accumulating 6 stacks, removes the stacks and buffs the on-field resonator's NA NA DMG by 52% lasting for 25s.
For alternatives, players can use these weapons as substitutes:
Stringmaster (5* Limited Weapon): All Resonance damage is increased by 12% . After casting Resonance Liberation or Outro Skill, the attack is increased by 12% , the effects are independent and can be stacked up to 12% layers, and the effect lasts for 2 seconds.
Cosmic Ripples (5* Permanent Weapon): Energy Regen is increased by 12.80% . When Basic Attack hits a target, Basic Attack Damage is increased by 3.20% . This effect can stack up to 5 time(s) and last for 8s.
